Starting his career in secondary education as a classroom music teacher, Michael was appointed Network Manager at Cams Hill School in 2018, before progressing to IT Director — a role in which he developed a reputation for delivering technology solutions that genuinely worked in a classroom context. He has since taken on the role of IT Director for The Gateway Trust, where he leads the Trust's technology strategy and infrastructure. 

Michael's unique background bridges the gap between pedagogy and technology. Where many IT leaders approach schools from a purely technical perspective, Michael's time in front of a class ensures that the solutions he implements are shaped by the realities of teaching — practical, effective, and designed with educators in mind.
