Lucy started as Executive Headteacher of Oakfield Academy and Woodcot Primary School in September 2026, having previously been Headteacher at Oakfield Academy from September 2024. With an extensive background in education spanning 27 years, Lucy has consistently championed children with additional needs and has held SENCo responsibilities in a range of schools throughout her career.

Lucy has a strong track record of school improvement and played a pivotal role in supporting a school's journey from Special Measures to a Good Ofsted judgement. She is passionate about ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed, with a particular focus on early reading, foundational learning and inclusive practice. At the heart of Lucy’s leadership is a belief that strong relationships are the foundation of successful schools. She is committed to fostering positive partnerships with pupils, staff, families and the wider community, recognising that trust, collaboration and belonging enable children and adults alike to flourish. Alongside academic achievement, she is committed to promoting personal development, wellbeing and character education as central elements of a successful school experience.

Lucy holds a Bachelor of Science with Qualified Teacher Status (Honours), the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH), and the CMI Level 7 Award in Strategic Management and Leadership Practice. She is nearing completion of a Master's degree in Educational Leadership, further enhancing her knowledge of strategic school improvement and organisational leadership. 

Lucy contributes to the wider educational community through her work as a facilitator for the National Professional Qualification for Special Educational Needs Coordinators (NPQSEN) with HISP Teaching School Hub. She also supports a local school through governance, sharing her expertise and commitment to strengthening educational outcomes across the local area.

Lucy’s extensive experience, commitment to inclusion and dedication to educational excellence continue to underpin her leadership across Oakfield Academy and Woodcot Primary School.
