Sean Taylor
Headteacher
Sean has been the Headteacher at Foundry Lane Primary School since September 2015. He has taught at the school in a range of roles since September 1993, a total of 33 years. With such an extensive background in primary education, Sean has consistently sought to create a living learning community at the school and has worked with a number of multi-generational families over their time as both pupils and parents at the school. He champions real inclusion for all children and aims to ensure that Foundry Lane is a truly inclusive community with children from a wide range of different backgrounds. Having had experience as a Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 class teacher, he recognises the importance of giving children the best possible start to their educational journey.
Sean’s educational experience includes a secondary school education in Yorkshire before earning a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Geography at Southampton University, a curriculum area he is still passionate about. He completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Education, also in Southampton, before beginning his teaching career. He was awarded the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) in 2007.
